Whiteley Town Council serves the Winchester District area of Whiteley, maintaining Meadowside Recreation Ground and the numerous play areas. The Town Council will also be managing the woodlands, sports pitches, allotments, play areas, open spaces and community centre in the new development in due course.
Starting the year outside!

Thank you to everyone who joined our walks in February.
Organised by our Community Development Officer Katie, the walks were a collaborative project with Hampshire & IoW Wildlife Trust and the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust. Two walks were enjoyed by local people, exploring our new and existing paths and checking out the wildlife.
The walks were rounded off with wildlife art and of course, coffee and cake!
More walks planned!

Allotments
There are four allotment sites planned for the new development; Allotment 1 has been completed and the legal work to transfer the site to the Town Council is progressing.
Allotment 2 and Allotment 3 are expected to be completed this year and the Council has asked Vistry to allow access via a licence to occupy, ahead of the legal work to transfer the land.

We are keeping a list of people interested in an allotment, if you would like to be added please use this link
When there is an update on the handover of the allotments we will arrange a meeting for those interested in setting up a management group.
What to look out for on your walks
![]() | Wild Daffodils or Narcissus pseudonarcissus The woodlands of Whiteley have some amazing populations of wild daffodils, where have you seen them? Smaller and more delicate than garden daffs they really are a delight! They are not that common so it’s great that they are being looked after in our open spaces |
