Whiteley Town Council serves the Winchester District area of Whiteley, maintaining Meadowside Recreation Ground and the numerous play areas.  The Town Council will also be managing the woodlands, sports pitches, allotments, play areas, open spaces and community centre in the new development in due course.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported this year’s festival, it was great to see so many families enjoying the event.

The music festival is a free event, funded by the profits made from the annual fireworks and this year extra thanks to our sponsors The Oaty Goat and Kutchenhaus. The additional sponsorship allowed us to hire in a marquee to provide much need shade. Thank you The Oaty Goat and Kutchenhaus!

Thank you to the councillors and staff who helped on the day, The Rotary Club of Whiteley who provided additional stewards, Whiteley Systems for the sound and PA hire, our fabulous school choirs and Henry Cort Jazz Band and the superb bands that braved the heat to entertain the crowd.

Extra thanks to our groundsmen Pete, Dave and Jojo for setting up the site, putting up with us all messing with their turf and clearing up afterwards.

Starting Sunday 30 August 2026 a new Bluestar 26 route will connect Whiteley with Southampton

Running hourly seven days a week (2 hourly on the Sunday) from approximately 6am to 9.30pm, the new service will provide a direct link between Whiteley Shopping Centre and Southampton city centre, serving:

Thank you to Dorlee and Bill who look after the community garden at Barn Farm, it really is a delight! The Sun Flower Competition was a great success and the winners enjoyed receiving their prizes.

New group for mums and babies

A Whiteley Allotment Association has been established to allocate and manage the allotments.

There are four allotment sites planned for the new development; Allotment 1 has been handed over and the Allotment Association will begin allocating the plots soon.

Allotment 2 and Allotment 3 are expected to be completed this year and the Council has asked Vistry to allow access via a licence to occupy, ahead of the legal work to transfer the land.

Work on Allotment 4 is expected to begin this year.

If you are the first resident to live in your North Whiteley house you can claim £100 towards the costs of bikes, scooters, walking boots, wellies… Few people have claimed, its very easy and help is available if needed.
